The IBU Academy Coach Education Programme offers a clear pathway to success, with four levels of courses designed for everyone from novices to experienced coaches.

At the moment only National Federations can apply in your name. We encourage you to get in contact with your National Federation if you are interested in applying for one of the courses.


Basic Course

Ideal for aspiring coaches with basic biathlon knowledge or a background in sports, this course focuses on the fundamentals of biathlon coaching, including skiing, shooting, and other important aspects of training with young biathletes. More Information


First Level Course

If you've completed the Basic Course or have equivalent experience, this course will help you advance your skills. Learn to plan and deliver well-planned training sessions, construct training plans, and manage youth and junior biathletes. More Information


Second Level Course

Geared towards experienced coaches of junior or higher-level athletes, or those with a sports science background, this course dives into applied training science, biathlon performance enhancement, and specialized coaching areas. More Information


Third Level Course

The ultimate challenge for highly experienced coaches of elite athletes with a university education in sports science. Refine your expertise in specific biathlon areas, long-term athlete development, and mentoring other coaches. More Information
