This Literature Database (LIDA) is part of a cooperation between the International Biathlon Union and the Institute of Applied Training Studies (Institut für Angewandte Trainingswissenschaft (IAT)) in Leipzig. It is being offered to users needing to do intensive literature research on biathlon training methods. The platform, which is based on the training research database SPONET (containing more than 50,000 entries and is growing by 350 new publications monthly), features a search function to let users look for scientific publications, giving them unique, quick and personalized access to the wealth of knowledge available on biathlon training.

With this tool, the IBU wants to provide worldwide free access to academic and peer-reviewed research about biathlon.
