Slovakia's Strakova Claims Second Title, Volfa Lifts Latvia to Top of Medal Table
On the fifth consecutive day of competition, the Youth and Junior Women battled for sprint medals. Michaela Straková secured her second gold of the week for Slovakia, while Latvia celebrated another triumph as Estere Volfa’s victory pushed her nation to the top of the medal standings.
Youth Women Sprint
The gold and silver medals mirrored the results of Sunday's Individual. Michaela Straková once again delivered a flawless shooting performance to secure victory. Norway’s Hanna Voelstad, with one penalty, added another silver medal to her collection. Austria’s Selina Ganner finished third, also with one miss, earning her first medal of the championships.
Junior Women Sprint
After finishing fifth in the Individual, Estere Volfa climbed to the top step of the podium, securing Latvia’s fourth medal of the championships and moving her nation to the top of the medal standings so far. Finland’s Inka Hamalainen took silver with one shooting error, while Germany’s Sydney Wuestling matched that record to claim bronze.
The small crystal globe in the Junior Women Sprint discipline was awarded to Ukraine’s Tetiana Tarasiuk.
The action in Arber continues on Friday with the Mass Start competitions across all four categories.
