Vote for your Woman Athlete of the World Cup Season 2025-2026
This season of biathlon was anything but boring. We saw a lot of different names at the top and exciting fights both on the shooting range and on the tracks. The yellow bib changed ownership on the women's side four times, which goes to show the tight level. Now it is your time to choose your Woman Athlete of the World Cup season 2025-2026!
Hanna Oeberg (SWE) reached her first individual victory of the season just in time for Christmas break. She took a sprint win with clean shooting in Annecy. After that, it seemed like sprint became her favourite event; she also won it in Ruhpolding and Holmenkollen, where she took a sprint-pursuit double. In Holmenkollen, she also finished the season with another podium as she came in second in the mass start. Overall, the Swede took 8 individual podiums this season. How impressive is that?
Lou Jeanmonnot (FRA) has been close to the Crystal globe since the 2023-2024 season, but now it was finally her time to take it back to France. She also won three discipline globes: sprint, individual and pursuit. The French won three individual World Cup races and were on the podium a total of 9 times. What a season!
Suvi Minkkinen (FIN) started her rise to the top already during the season 2024-2025, but this winter she really showed that it wasn't a fluke of luck. Minkkinen started her season strong with her first individual World Cup victory in Oestersund and left the first stage with a yellow bib on her. She won two Single Mixed relays with Tero Seppala and took five second places during the World Cup season. A big breakthrough for the Finn!
Lisa Vittozzi (ITA) returned to the World Cup after sitting out season 2024-2025 due to back problems. And it was like she was never gone as she took her first win of the season in Hochfilzen pursuit with a clean shooting. It was one of three individual World Cup victories of the season. She took a total of six podiums this winter and finished third in the total score. Grande Lisa!
Now it is your time to decide which one of these four deserves the Woman Athlete of the Season title. Vote in the poll below - you have until Wednesday 18 CET.
