Due to bad weather conditions forecast with strong wind gusts for 09 January 2026, the competition schedule for the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon in Oberhof has been changed. The Women Sprint, originally scheduled for Friday, 09 January 14:25 (CET), has been moved forward to Thursday, 08 January 2026 at 14:15 (CET). The start time for the Men Sprint on 08 January has been changed to 11:30 (CET) in the morning. A tribute to Sivert Guttorm Bakken will take place accordingly ahead of the men's competition.
