The IBU has today been notified by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) that the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU), the Russian Paralympic Committee and 8 Russian biathletes and para-biathletes have filed a request for arbitration.

The IBU stands by the democratic decision of the IBU Congress to suspend the RBU and its athletes, which was taken on strong legal grounds. The IBU also reiterates that the IBU Event and Competition Rules and the IBU Constitution do not allow for a neutral-athlete pathway.

The IBU is confident in its position and will cooperate fully with CAS.

The IBU legal team is currently reviewing the documents. Further statements will be made in due course.
