Norway wins Mixed Relays in Ridnaun

Norway won in the Mixed and Single Mixed Relay on the final day of the IBU Cup 5 in Ridnaun-Val Ridanna.

Erdal and Soerum ease to the Single Mixed Relay win

Karoline Erdal and Vebjoern Soerum, with just six reloads, took the Single Mixed Relay in 36:49.4. France came in second, 16.3 seconds back. Surprisingly, Nuora Kaisa Keranan and Tuomas Harjula achieved third place for Finland, 20.7 seconds behind the winners.

"It was a good, measured performance. I am happy that we finished with a win," said Erdal. "As a Norwegian, you are expected to win in the Relay and that adds pressure. I am very pleased with my final leg. It was a good biathlon," said Soerum.

Oeverby's k.o. in the prone

Mats Oeverby anchored Norway to a win in the 4x6km Mixed Relay in Ridnaun-Val Ridanna in 1:05.19.3. Germany came in second, 13 seconds back. France rounded the podium in third place, 25 seconds behind the winners.

"My skiing speed has been on a very high level for the past two weeks. Today, I cleared all the targets in the standing, and that gives me a good feeling before joining the World Cup team in Antholz," said Lien. "We talked about the tactics for a sudden attack on the shooting range already in Martell. Here, we successfully applied it," added Oeverby.
