Germany in the Mixed Relay and Sweden in the Single Mixed Relay claimed victories on the opening day of the IBU Cup in Brezno-Osrblie, Slovakia.

In the Mixed Relay, Germany (S. Patz, L.-M. Spark, E. Seidl, F. Schaser), using four reloads, won in 1:09:07.3. France (V. Galmace Paulin, S. Chauveau, G. Paturel, D. Levet), with 10 reloads, finished second, 22.4 seconds behind Germany. Sweden (E. Nilsson, A. Hedstrom, E. Nykvist, P. Lindkvist-Floetten), with 2+10, finished third, 1:11.3 behind the winners.

In the Single Mixed Relay, Sweden (A. Lind, M. Nordgren) used five reloads and won in 42:59.9. Finland (E. Janka, J. Ranta), also with five reloads, crossed the finish line in second place, 5.2 seconds behind. Italy (L. Zingerle, D. Cappellari) needed six reloads and completed the podium, 16.5 seconds behind Sweden.
