Enodd and Botn win in the Pursuit in Idre Fjall

Jenny Enodd and Johan Olav Botn, both of Norway, won in the Pursuit in Idre Fjall.

For Botn, it was the fourth IBU Cup win of the winter, and for Enodd, a career-first IBU Cup win. Enodd was the only athlete - women or men - who cleared all 20 targets in the windy and snowy conditions.

Enodd wins with bib 21

Enodd started with the bib 21 and seized the opportunity in challenging weather conditions for a win in 28:04.4. Sprint 2 winner Karoline Erdal missed four shots and finished in second place, 39.6 seconds behind Enodd. Sweden's Ella Halvarsson, finishing fourth in both Sprints in Idre Fjall, completed the podium with third place, 51.4 seconds behind the winner.

The Winner’s words - Jenny Enodd

It is my first-ever IBU Cup win for me. I have worked hard for it, not just today. I focused on my shooting and kept climbing in the rankings. It wasn’t easy to withstand the pressure in the last shoot, but it turned out great!

France's Ocean Michelon, 1:22.9 minutes back, and Jeanne Richard, 1:40.4 minutes back, both with 17 hits, finished fourth and fifth. Pascale Paradise of Canada, with just two misses, finished sixth, 1:43.9 minutes behind the winner, for her first-ever Flower ceremony appearance.

Erdal took the lead in the Total Score after today's second-place finish.

Botn wins in tough conditions

Johan Olav Botn of Norway, missing five shots, won in the Men's Pursuit in Idre Fjall. Sprint's winner, Philipp Horn of Germany, finished second, and Martin Uldal of Norway third.

Botn missed two shots in the first prone and then one shot in each of the remaining shooting stages, but he clocked the fastest skiing time in all but the final lap for his fourth win of the season. Horn kept ahead or near Botn until the last shooting when two misses proved too much for a closer finish. Uldal was one of the best shots of the day and fought back from a disappointing 18th in the Sprint 2.

The Winner's words - Johan Olav Botn

It felt like a hard labor today. The tracks were slow with a lot of fresh snow, and one had to use the whole lap to gain an advantage as spurts of speed brought nothing. I kept Philipp within my eyesight until the last shooting and, luckily, shot decently well in the final stage. My winning flow continues.

Oscar Lombardot of France, with 16/20, finished in the fourth place, 58.5 seconds behind Botn. Norway's Martin Nevland, with four misses, finished fifth, 1:13.7 minutes behind the winner. Lombardot's teammate Damien Levet, missing three shots, completed the Flower ceremony, finishing sixth, 1:23.3 minutes behind Botn.

Botn sits comfortably atop the Total Score standings.
