Wednesday Biathlon Social Wrap
The last National Championships have concluded and it's time for the next training camps - or maybe a final vacation before the season preparation goes into the last stages. We'll get you up to speed with this week's social wrap:
A very wet Summer Nationals in Norway
Over the course of the past weekend, the Norwegian Summer Nationals took place in Steinkjer north of Trondheim. But the competitions didn't give up much of a summer vibe: water was spraying up from the rollerskis and rain jackets were mandatory. But nonetheless Marte Olsbu Roeiseland had a stellar weekend winning both the sprint and the mass start.
On the men's side Tore Leren surprised ahead of the Boe-Brothers in the sprint while Johannes Dale captured the mass start title.
A dozen hours of biathlon
For the first time, the Polish federation decided to live-stream their National Championships and you can still watch all the competitions on youtube! A couple of familiar faces grazed the podium with Monika Hojnisz-Starega and Grzegorz Guzik standing at the very top.
IBU TV in Ukraine
Going just a little further East from Poland we're finding ourselves in Chernihiv, Ukraine where the IBU TV team was busy filming at the Ukrainian National Championships. You'll be able to see the result in the near future!

There's always room for more podcasts
The Biathlon-Podcast group is growing larger and larger. Erik Lesser and Arnd Peiffer are the latest to pic up the microphone and broadcast from the peace and quite of their "Biathlon-Doppelzimmer" -- and naturally, it helps to speak German to follow along.
From Kontiolahti to Italy
After the conclusion of the races in Kontiolahti this weekend, it was time for the Finnish team to head to their high altitude training camp -- and which better place to choose than the venue of the 2020 World Championships -- Antholz/Anterselva. With the season highlight at 1600 m, it just feels like the athletes are spending a little more time up in the mountains than usual this summer: and the Finnish team is not alone South Tyrol.
Final few days in Antholz for Team France
While the Finnish team just arrived, the French team's camp in Antholz is almost over -- and if Emilien Jacquelin's recent Instagram post is anything to go by, the team put in some hard yards up in the mountains. Time for some rest and recovery - maybe!
The other end of Italy
While France and Finland took over Antholz, Italy's Nicole Gontier and Lisa Vittozzi traveled to Sicily for a late-summer break between their training camps. And going by those pictures, they definitely made the right decision!
Less than 10 weeks
The US team continues their training in Lake Placid: and as Clare Egan says - the season is creeping closer. Fingers crossed they'll get some stunning Indian Summer Foliage before winter truly takes over.
