Big events for the Biathlon Family

This spring we saw some heartwarming family news from our biathletes as they got married and engaged as well as announced one pregnancy. We collected all the celebrations here for you.

Komatz - wedding and a baby!

It was a big spring for Katharina and David Komatz who first announced a pregnancy and then followed it up with a wedding in the Austrian Alps. The biathlon power couple initially got married already in April 2022 but now they got to celebrate surrounded by friends and family.

Baby Olsbu Roeiseland 🤗

Marte Olsbu Roeiseland finished her incredible career in March in Oslo-Holmenkollen - and now she and her husband Sverre are headed for the next adventure. Both announced they will become parents later this year in autumn.

Perfect wedding for Felix Leitner

The Komatzes were not the only members of the Austrian biathlon team who said ’I do’ this summer. Felix Leitner and his wife Anna, who got engaged last spring, had a beautiful wedding this May. Glückwunsch!

All smiles at the Krcmar wedding

We have been hearing wedding bells all over the biathlon family this summer as Michal Krcmar and his wife celebrated in the beautiful town of Zasova in the Czech Republic. To make the wedding even more special also their young son was a part of the ceremony and looked dapper in his little suit!

Justus Strelow popped the question

What is a better location for a proposal than the Philippines? After the season Justus Strelow travelled to the island nation with big plans. With stunning vacation pictures he posted on Instagram we also saw him and his now-fiancee Elli posed looking happier than ever with a sparkling ring on Elli’s finger. Don’t forget to invite us to the wedding!

New challenges for Franziska Hildebrand

Last summer German biathlete Franziska Hildebrand announced she is expecting a baby. In January, the little girl arrived in the World and since then we have seen Franziska sharing photos of time spent with the newcomer. What a special time this is for the Hildebrand family.

Baby Batovska Fialkova on the way

It is time for an exciting new chapter in the Batovska Fialkova family as Paulina is expecting a baby. The couple, who got married last summer, announced the news over social media this week: "Change is life was never just a phrase to me."

New member to join the biathlon family from Bulgaria

Bulgaria's two brightest biathletes Vladimir Iliev and Milena Todorova are joining the pregnancy group as they are expecting a baby as well. Iliev proposed to Todorova last September during a beautiful sunset and the couple is over the moon waiting for the newest family member.

Bendika joins baby boom

Latvia's Baiba Bendika also announced that she expecting her first child together with former biathlon Ilmars Bricis. The 32-year-old announced the news barely a few days after Batovska Fialkova and Todorova. Congratulations!
