The ever-growing Biathlon Family

This summer has kept the biathletes busy, not only with training and summer biathlon competitions but with family occasions! Earlier this year we saw many athletes getting married, including Regina and Kalev Ermits as well as Katharina and David Komatz. But the family news don't stop there! Keep reading to find out who got married as well as welcome the new babies to biathlon family!

Hand in hand through life

Denise Herrmann married the former cross-country skier Thomas Wick. After the wedding they had a honeymoon-day in Toblach hiking and relaxing.

Dream wedding in Engelberg

The Summer Biathlon World Championship bronze medalist Lena Haecki not only got bronze this summer but also her dream husband Marco Gross. The wedding took place in the beautiful village of Engelberg in the beginning of June.

Mr and Mrs Windisch

After proposing to his girlfriend in 2018 with a ring made out of his Olympic medal, Dominik Windisch and his now-wife Juli said "I do" this September.

Aita's and Sergey's Fairytale Wedding

The youngest Gasparin sister and Ukraine's Sergey Semenov tied the knot at the end of last month.

Say hello to Baby Doll and Baby Boe

Benedikt Doll and his wife welcomed a new family member in August as their first baby was born. Welcome to the Biathlon Family Baby Doll!

Also Tarjei Boe is now a proud dad as his fiancé Gita Simonsen gave birth to their son Aron in mid-September. Who knows, maybe we will see the babies in the future competing together.

Engagement and pregnancies

Franziska Hildebrand announced her pregnancy just after the Summer Biathlon World Championships. Earlier this summer also the mass start globe winner Justine Braisaz-Bouchet announced that she and her husband are expecting a baby.

There might be a biathlon wedding in sight for next summer as well since the Bulgarian biathlon couple Milena Todorova and Vladimir Iliev got engaged.
