5 Burning Questions for Johannes Thingnes Boe

With his Pursuit victory on Saturday, Johannes Thingnes Boe secured his 5th Total Score Victory in the last six seasons. The Norwegian first secured it in 2019 and only stopped his season early in 2022 after the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.

While lifting the biggest globe wasn’t exactly a new feeling for the Norwegian, he found his strongest opponent in his older brother.

During the Trophy Shoot in Canmore, we checked in with Johannes – and asked him the same five questions we also posed to Lisa Vittozzi:

5 Burning Questions for Johannes Thingnes Boe:

What is your favourite memory or day of this season?

"I think the Friday in Canmore, winning with over one minute the sprint here in Canmore – it was a great win and crucial for the World Cup Overall."

This was an incredibly successful winter for you, but what was the biggest challenge for you in the past few months?

"Tarjei. I don’t need to say more. Everyone knows. When you have your brother in your heels it’s the worst, especially the older brother."

What are you most excited to do when you get home?

"To be present – to eat good food, drink good wine – just the normal things, be a normal human."

What has it been like finishing the season here in Canmore, quite far away from friends and family?

"It’s different, I think they are sleeping already – sometimes it’s like that and I also look forward to the next two years when the Finals are in Holmenkollen again."

“If you had to give 18-year-old Johannes any advice, what would it be?”

Believe in yourself. 😊
