IBU Cup Schedule Change and Calendar Announcement

The new IBU Executive Board (EB) met in Salzburg on 8-9 November to take important decisions related to the 2022/2023 season.

During the meeting, the EB was informed by the Norwegian Biathlon Federation that due to the lack of snow in Sjusjoen, Norway, it will not be possible to host IBU Cup 1 (24-27 Nov 2022) and officially handed back the event to IBU. With the currently challenging weather and snow situation, the EB decided to cancel IBU Cup 1 and at the same time amend the competition programme for the IBU Cup 2 in Idrefjäll, Sweden, by one competition (29 Nov – 4 Dec 2022). Kontiolahti (FIN) was confirmed as the 7th stage of the 2025/2026 BMW IBU World Cup.

Östersund (SWE) and Arber (GER) have been awarded the Youth Junior World Championships 2025 and 2026 respectively.

The full calendar for the IBU Cup has been confirmed for the seasons 2024/2025 and 2025/2026.
