Norway’s Martin Uldal was in and out of the lead throughout this afternoon’s Annecy Le Grand Bornand Men’s 10 km Sprint, but in the lead at the finish, claiming his first career victory in 23:13.5. Uldal’s clean-shooting first win came in his 5th career BMW IBU World Cup start, just days after a career-best 5th place in the Hochfilzen Pursuit.
Fabien Claude is the middle brother of a trio of talented biathletes who have won medals at every level of the sport from the IBU YJWCH to the Olympic Winter Games. Coming into the past weekend in Hochfilzen, Fabien was in a four-year individual podium dry spell, dating back to third place in the 2021 Hochfilzen Sprint. Ten perfect shots last Friday ended that with third in the same competition. On Sunday, he led off the first-ever French men’s relay victory in Hochfilzen, wrapping up a very successful weekend at the Austrian venue.
