Stats of the week - Ruhpolding

Elvira Oeberg and JT Boe took the Sprint-Pursuit double in Pokljuka with very different strategies. Oeberg shot with absolute precision, while Johannes hit the skiing form of his life. With the Individual opening the Ruhpolding week and the new point system in place, overnight shifts are possible.

JT Boe keeps changing history

JT Boe added Pokljuka to Kontiolahti, Hochfilzen, and Annecy Le Grand Bornand as his Sprint winning streak continues in 2022/2023 and is at four before Ruhpolding. No one has won four Sprints in a row before. Not Ole Einar Bjoerndalen, not Martin Fourcade. The scary thing? Johannes said he needs to do better after he took the Sprint despite one miss, with a 48.1 seconds advantage over his clean-shooting brother Tarjei.

Simon and Oeberg have the podium booked for themselves

In seven out of 10 competitions this season, Julia Simon or Elvira Oeberg finished in the Top 3. They have won five times between them; Elvira took three wins, Julia two. Including wins, Simon collected six podiums, Oeberg four. Yellow bib Simon has 31 points advantage over Blue bib Oeberg before Ruhpolding.

Doll is chasing his first victory, Herrmann-Wick her first podium

Benedikt Doll and Denise Herrmann-Wick are in great form in 2022/2023. While this is exciting news for German fans with the fast-approaching BMW IBU World Championships Oberhof 2023, they will want to settle some score with Ruhpolding. Doll has three podiums to his name and will be among the few candidates who could cut JT Boe’s dominance in the Sprint short. Herrmann-Wick is yet to be on the podium in Ruhpolding.
