Franziska Preuss already spoke about her retirement in Nove Mesto, now she confirmed that the 2025-2026 season will be the last of her career.

The news doesn't come as a surprise: After many years of illness getting in the way of her sky-high potential, the German claimed the 2024-2025 Total Score in dramatic fashion against Lou Jeanmonnot.

Preuss has since openly talked about the "unfinished business" she has with the Olympic Games - her lone medal in three Olympic events only coming at the end of Beijing 2022 in the Women Relay; and now she's targeting Antholz and Milano Cortina 2026 as the last big event of her career, like so many of her peers. Over the course of the summer, we caught up with "Franzi" at home, where she talked about her career, her life beyond biathlon and what's next!
