President Dahlin attends Paralympic assemblies in Korea

The IBU President Olle Dahlin attended the Association of Paralympic Sport Organisations (APSO) General Assembly on 23 September and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) General Assembly from 24–27 September in Seoul, South Korea. The IPC Assembly saw Andrew Parsons re-elected as President for a third term, while APSO elected Dr. Debra Alexander as its new President.

At the APSO General Assembly (23 September), Dr. Debra Alexander was elected President, and members endorsed the APSO Strategy 2025–2032, focusing on strengthening governance, uniting member voices, and expanding partnerships to boost the organisation’s impact in the Asia-Pacific region. IBU President Olle Dahlin attended, reinforcing collaboration between winter sports and regional Paralympic bodies.

The IPC General Assembly (24–27 September) saw Andrew Parsons re-elected as IPC President for a third term, securing 109 of 177 votes. His leadership will guide the IPC’s vision for inclusive, athlete-centred growth. The assembly also highlighted the IBU’s integration into the IPC, finalised in 2023, which positioned the IBU as the governing body for Para biathlon. The Milano-Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games will mark the first Games with Para biathlon under IBU governance, a milestone for the sport.
