Development Projects Support 2022/2023

EB decided to support 76 development projects from the applying 35 national federations members. This year IBU offers 900 000 EUR for NFs Partnership Support, Youth and Junior Athletes Development, Support of Training Venues, Biathlon Experts Support and Human Resources Management, Dual Career, and Sustainable Business Support.

The goal is to build the capacity of existing members to regulate better, promote and develop the sport at a national level, encourage delivery of more activities by member federations, and promote gender equality, sustainability, and good governance. The most used project this year is „Identification and training of Youth and Junior athletes“ (23), followed by „Athlete recruitment“ (14), which is part of the strategy from the recently approved IBU Dual Career policy. In addition, the leading and developing NFs applied for 10 Partnership projects with progressing NFs.

NFs get the final support and agreement information via the IBU Scope – online application system.

*IBU support is intended as partial support (as opposed to full cost basis), is focused on structured and future-oriented long-term projects and programs, may be need-based, promotes cooperation among NFs, and requires reporting.
