Erasmus+ Project DC4Biathletes - Kick-off Meeting in Warsaw

The International Biathlon Union (IBU) is a partner of the DC4Biathletes project, an initiative under the Erasmus+ Sport program. The official kick-off meeting took place from 14-15 January 2025 in Warsaw (POL). This project aims to support young biathletes in balancing their sports careers with education.

The project addresses the challenges of dual careers, recognizing the demanding nature of biathlon and the high dropout rate among young athletes. By developing modern, intercultural approaches, DC4Biathletes seeks to raise awareness, provide key competencies, and equip young athletes with the skills needed to manage both training and academic commitments effectively.

Key Objectives of the Project:

  • Developing a modern and intercultural approach to dual careers in biathlon.

  • Raising awareness of the benefits and challenges associated with combining education and sports.

  • Protecting and enhancing the skills of young biathletes to help them succeed in both fields.

The project is driven by a strong international consortium of partners, including:

  • Institute of Sport Poland (Coordinator)

  • International Biathlon Union

  • FEPSAC

  • University of Ljubljana

  • Re:vise Hub

With this collaboration, DC4Biathletes aims to make a lasting impact by ensuring that young biathletes can pursue their education while excelling in their sport.

Stay tuned for updates on this exciting project and its upcoming developments!
