Jeanmonnot Prevails in Ruhpolding Pursuit

France’s Lou Jeanmonnot starting behind Sprint winner Hanna Oeberg in this afternoon’s Ruhpolding Women’s 10 Km Pursuit, took charge with a clean first prone stage and despite a late challenge from the Swede, prevailed, taking a 29:26.6 victory. The Yellow Bib’s only flaw came with a penalty in the last standing stage of her second pursuit victory of the season.

Hanna, with three penalties finished second, 10.5 seconds back after trying in vain to close the gap on Jeanmonnot on the last loop. Jeanmonnot’s teammate, Camille Bened shot clean in third place, 12.9 seconds back.

Norway’s Maren Kirkeeide, with one penalty finished fourth, 17 seconds back, further strengthening her position atop the Blue Bib (under 23) standings. Switzerland’s Amy Baserga equaled th second-best result of her career for the third time this season, finishing fifth, 33.8 seconds back with two penalties. France added a third athlete to the Flower Ceremony with two-penalty Oceane Michelon sixth, 34.9 seconds back.
