The regional government of South Tyrol has informed the International Biathlon Union that the final stage of the IBU Cup 2020/2021 cannot be held in Ridnaun, Italy due to the current Covid-19 regulations in place in the region. During the whole season, the IBU has always pursued alternative scenarios for every IBU Cup stage to have options, if the Covid-19 situation requires.

Thus, the IBU can already announce that the Austrian Ski Federation will host the final stage of the IBU Cup in Obertilliach. The competition will be held in the week 8-14 March. Obertilliach is currently hosting the 2021 IBU Youth and Junior World Championships and will thus provide perfect conditions for IBU Cup athletes since all the event infrastructure and necessary COVID-19 measures are already in place. The competition schedule for the final IBU Cup week 2020/2021 has been amended as follows:
