IBU Educators Education Meeting

The IBU Educators Education Meeting was held online on the 27th and 29th of August, bringing together 20 existing and new IBU Educators. The event aimed to update participants on the IBU Academy Coach Education program.

On August 27th, educators involved in the Basic and First Level Courses convened to discuss the current status of the Coach Education program. The session included a lesson on modern teaching methods delivered by IBU Development Director Dagmara Gerasimuk. The meeting featured a mix of experienced coaches, newcomers, and graduates from the Academy courses, engaging in productive discussions over three hours. Notably, former athletes Sven Fischer from Germany and Raphael Poirée from France participated and are expected to contribute to future coach education activities.

On August 29th, educators for the Second and Third Level Courses met. Following the teaching methods session, they had an extensive discussion about course content, mentoring, and other relevant topics to enhance the IBU Academy courses. Participants included Wolfgang Pichler (GER), Jonne Kähkönen (FIN), Matthias Ahrens (GER), Jonas Johansson (SWE), Alexander Inderst (ITA), Sandra Flunger (AUT), and Knut Kuvas Brevik (NOR).

Gerold Sattlecker, Head of the IBU Academy, emphasized the importance of these meetings, stating that the educators are crucial for delivering practical sessions during the courses. The meetings help update the educators, reinforce the Academy's philosophy, and further improve the quality of the education provided.
