On Thursday 28th of July, the Research Grant Working Group and members of the Development Department were presented with the first round of research projects, that have been funded by the IBU Research Grant Programme (RSGP). Representatives of four different universities shared their knowledge and in particular their results regarding their projects and took questions of the expert group.
This year’s projects were:
The influence of balance and mindfulness training on shooting performance in young biathletes - Academy of Physical Education in Katowice
Validity of an automated GNSS-IMU system in biathlon range work analysis - University of Jyväskylä
Influence of Core Stability and Dynamic Balance on Biathlon Shooting Performance - Montana State University
Signs and symptoms of Relative Energy Deficiency in Sports (RED-S) in male endurance athletes - Research Institute of Olympic Sports
Each project aimed for getting better insights into the sport of biathlon. All conclusions and especially the practical applications of the research projects will be spread among the members of the biathlon family via our homepage and social media. The shared knowledge will contribute to further developing the sport of biathlon.
Stay tuned for the detailed research reports.
