Anais Chevalier-Bouchet calls it a career

The retirements at the end of this season are coming in thick and heavy - Anais Chevalier-Bouchet has announced that she will also conclude her career after this week in Oslo-Holmenkollen.

After Denise Herrmann-Wick and Marte Olsbu Roeiseland, Anais Chevalier-Bouchet is the next name to hang up her rifle after the end of this season.

The French woman, who has a total of 10 World Championships and Olympic medals to her name, announced the end of her career this morning on Instagram.

"I am so glad I gave myself the change to succeed and stay right with my values all along my career. So proud to have kept fighting in difficult moments, proud to have dared, to have made choices and stayed with them. Another life is waiting for me, can't wait what is next! Thank you for everything 🧡"

Chevalier-Bouchet collected multiple medals at Youth Junior World Championships and won the Sprint at the Open European Championshps in 2013 - the Frenchwoman was promoted to the World Cup team the same year in Hochfilzen and became a fixture in the French squad, contributing to 12 Relay victories in her time - her sole individual World Cup victory coming in the pursuit of Nove Mesto Na Morave in 2016. The 30-year-old sat out the 2019/2020 World Cup season after the birth of her daughter - but made a dynamic return to the sport in the past three years, continuing to be a big medal and podium candidate.

With the exception of Oestersund 2019 (when she was already pregnant), Chevalier-Bouchet won medals at every big event between 2016 and 2023 - including Silver at the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games in the Individual.

Enjoy this last dance in Holmenkollen, Anais!
