The first thing athletes did at home after the season

Even though for a biathlon fan, the World Cup season might feel like a breeze for many athletes, it means months away from home. After the season-ending party in Holmenkollen, the Oslo airport on Monday is full of biathlon superstars heading home. But what is the first thing they do once arriving?

Jasper Fleming: Mountain biking

"I don't really have a favourite route because I literally live in mountain biking heaven. But just biking around Squamish is heaven!"

Squamish is halfway between Vancouver and Whistler nestled in the Rocky Mountains. There you can do all the outdoor activites one can dream off from mountain biking to hiking and even sailing. Jasper is right, sounds like heaven!

Rene Zakhna: Late mornings and brunches

"When it comes to a perfect brunch, I'm really into scrambled eggs on sourdough and, of course, French toast."

If you are looking for a perfect brunch spot in Otepaa next spring during the World Champs, check out Elsa, a local cafe with the perfect scrambled eggs and amazing cinnamon buns.

Lena Repinc: Home-cooked meal

"I had a very nice home-cooked meal! My dad's cottage cgeese dumplings with Norwegian jam."

Cottage cheese dumplings are a soft, pillowy dish (often called lazy vareniki in Slavic regions) made by mixing cottage cheese with eggs, flour or semolina, and sometimes sugar. The mixture is shaped into small balls or dumplings, boiled in salted water until they float, and commonly served with sour cream, melted butter, or breadcrumbs. Sounds delicious!

Leonhard Pfund: Cat first

"I came through the front door, said hello to my cat, ate some cookies, unpacked, and washed my clothes."

Chloe Levins: Baking!

...and all of the cleaning!

Since being away from home for such a long time, it means you also have some housework to do. "I cleaned my apartment, now it is more suitable for living", said Anastasia Merkushyna. "I washed all of my clothes and did a deep clean in my house", Amy Baserga laughed.
