Emilien Jacquelin transitioned from student biathlete to full-time biathlete only after the 2017/2018 season. He also had his first breakthrough at the BMW IBU World Cup level in 2017/2018 when he finished fifth in the sprint and sixth in the pursuit in Antholz-Anterselva. He learned some hard lessons about living up to his unquestionable potential in the 2018/2019 season, which he finished in 24th place in the Total Score standings. He reassessed his commitment and position within the super competitive French team before the 2019/2020 season. He went on to win gold in the pursuit at the IBU World Championships Antholz-Anterselva 2020, where he also won bronze in the mass start, gold in the men’s relay and bronze in the single mixed relay with Anais Bescond. Jacquelin scored eight podiums in the 2019/2020 season and a small globe in the pursuit. He was most delighted about sharing podiums with his great friend, idol and training partner Martin Fourcade, who retired at the end of the season.
Emilien is known for his great belief in his capabilities, his respect for other competitors and his witty, very French posts on social media.
