Ahead of the elections for the IBU Athletes’ Committee beginning on 17 March 2026, six candidates have been announced for the three open positions.

The election will be held online during the BMW IBU World Cup event at Holmenkollen in Oslo, Norway, from 17 March until 21 March 2026.

The six candidates for the election are (in alphabetical order):

• Kelsey Dickinson, USA

• Jessica Jislova, CZE

• Simon Kaiser, GER

• Sturla Holm Laegreid, NOR

• Thierry Langer, BEL

• Lisa Vitozzi, ITA

Elected in 2024, the current members of the Athletes’ Committee who will remain in their positions until 2028 are:

• Simon Eder, AUT

• Lena Häcki-Gross, SUI

Of the three new members elected, one must be female, one of the new members elected must be male to meet the gender equality requirements, and the third one can be male or female.

After the candidates have been appointed, a new Athletes´ Committee Chair will also be elected.

The importance of athletes to decision-making within the IBU was recognised and solidly embedded into the governance structures with the approval of the IBU's new Constitution in October 2019.

The Athletes' Committee representative to the IBU Executive Board is a full voting member of the Board.
