Competition schedule change and stricter Covid-19 protocol for Oberhof World Cup

Due to the current warm weather and rain in Oberhof, Germany, the competition schedule for the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon in Oberhof has been changed so that the Men's Sprint competition is now scheduled for Friday, 07 January 2022 at 11:30 am. All other competitions remain as scheduled.

The organisers will use the stored snow from their snow depot to restore the track once the spell of warm weather has passed on Wednesday morning according to current forecasts.

Friday 07 January 2022 11:30 Men 10km Sprint 14:15 Women 7.5km Sprint

Saturday 08 January 2022 12:15 Mixed Relay (M+W) 14:45 Single Mixed Relay (M+W)

Sunday 09 January 2022 12:30 Men 12.5km 14:45 Women 10km Pursuit

Due to the latest pandemic developments, the IBU has also decided to implement stricter Covid-19 protocols for its January events. The new rules include PCR-tests for all event participants to enter event bubbles and additional test (PCR and antigene) after the onboarding. The IBU will also travel with its own laboratory again to guarantee a smooth testing procedure. The new guidelines apply for all World Cups, IBU Cups and Junior Cups.
