IBU invests more than €2 million in 147 national development projects for 2026/2027
The IBU has confirmed its support for 147 Development Projects for the 2026/2027 season, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening biathlon development. The IBU received 186 project applications from 42 National Federations. Following the evaluation process, support has been proposed for 147 projects from 41 National Federations, with a total allocation of €2.065 million. The support includes €185.800 support for 18 Para Biathlon Development projects.
Development Project support
The strong interest in the programme highlights the growing engagement of National Federations in developing biathlon at all levels. The most frequently submitted project categories were:

In addition, the Norwegian Biathlon Association will receive support for a customised development project focused on the Liatoppen Festival, one of the world's largest youth biathlon events.
Supporting Para Biathlon
The IBU continues to strengthen its commitment to Para Biathlon, investing €185,800 to support 18 projects across 16 National Federations. These initiatives reflect the IBU's ongoing efforts to expand participation, develop sustainable Para Biathlon programmes, and create more opportunities for athletes with disabilities.
