Arnd Peiffer is a gold medalist in the sprint from the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. He is also the World Champion in the individual (his only podium in biathlon’s traditional discipline) from the IBU World Championships Oestersund 2019 and in the sprint from Khanty-Mansiysk 2011. Additionally, he won gold medals with the men’s relay team at the IBU World Championships in Kontiolahti 2015 and with the mixed relay team in Khanty-Mansiysk 2010 and Hochfilzen 2017. He has won 16 medals altogether at the IBU World Championships, with Oestersund 2019 being his most successful with three medals. Peiffer has two Olympic men’s relay medals from the Vancouver 2010 and the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. He made his debut at the BMW IBU World Cup in the 2008/2009 season and finished a career-best fourth four times in the 2010/2011, 2011/2012, 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 seasons. He has 10 wins to his name, eight of them in his favourite discipline, the sprint, and 35 podiums altogether.
