Oslo Holmenkollen

Norway’s capitol city Oslo shines like a crown jewel on the shore of the deep blue Oslofjord. The heart of the inner city runs along the stylish boulevard, Karl Johans Gate from the Royal Palace to the Central Station and harbor. At the harbor, the beautiful Oslo Opera House, with its angular design along the harbor seems to rise from the water, as the city does; pointing towards Holmenkollen perched on a distant mountainside.

The Holmenkollen Ski Stadium, legendary in the Nordic sports world is the only complex of its kind in a major capitol city. Its distinctive jumping tower, now in its 19th incarnation dates back to wooden skis and a stone jump ramp in 1892. Biathlon, ski jumping and cross-country World Cups bring hundreds of thousands of spectators to the stadium each winter to enjoy Norway’s most popular sports.
