IBU EXPANDS RESEARCH NETWORK WITH ACADEMY OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN KATOWICE

The International Biathlon Union (IBU) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice (AWF), Poland, marking the third such collaboration aimed at advancing scientific research within the sport of biathlon.

The partnership officially began with a signing ceremony on November 7th at the University of Katowice. IBU President Olle Dahlin and the Rector of the Academy, Prof. Grzegorz Juras, came together to formalize the agreement. This important event was also attended by Development Director Dagmara Gerasimuk and Head of the IBU Academy, Gerold Sattlecker, highlighting the significance of this union.

Rector Juras shared his enthusiasm about the new partnership with the IBU:

It is a pleasure to be a partner of the IBU. We are looking forward to having a fruitful cooperation.

And IBU-President Dahlin expressed the value of the partnership, saying:

This cooperation with the University of Katowice further strengthens the IBU´s development concerning education and research. We are happy to have another strong partner on our side.

This latest collaboration follows partnerships with Mid Sweden University in Östersund and the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences in Oslo, underlining the IBU's dedication to advancing biathlon through educational and research initiatives.

There are more future collaborations about to come as the IBU Academy moves forward, bringing innovative science and education to the heart of the sport.
