Eric Perrot’s Journey to the Olympics

Road to Milano is an insightful new YouTube web series born from the collaboration between French biathlete Eric Perrot and his brother, Marius. This immersive, family-driven project takes fans behind the scenes of Eric’s Olympic preparation, offering an authentic and deeply human look at what it takes to pursue excellence at the highest level. Led entirely by Marius — who films, directs, and shapes the narrative — the series gains rare sincerity and emotional depth, with intimate, powerful images that go far beyond sport performance alone.

The series unfolds across four key episodes, each revealing a decisive phase of Eric Perrot’s road to the Milano Olympic Games.

EPISODE 1: The Fundamentals at Home

Everything begins at home, in Peisey-Vallandry (France), where the foundations of performance are built during the summer months. This opening episode dives into Eric’s daily routines, base training sessions, and personal reflections.

The focus is on consistency, discipline, and the importance of one’s surroundings—elements that seem simple yet are essential for long-term success. Beyond the physical work, viewers gain insight into Eric’s mindset, values, and the environment that shaped him both as an athlete and as a person.

EPISODE 2: Tenerife — High-Altitude Training and a Change of Environment

The second chapter takes the audience to Tenerife, the largest of Spain’s Canary Islands, where Eric completes a three-week high-altitude training camp at 2,200 metres. This stage is a crucial step in his preparation, mirroring the altitude conditions he will face at the Olympic venue in Antholz–Anterselva, Italy.

The episode captures not only the physical demands of training in thin air, but also the importance of changing environments to stimulate both body and mind. Between intense sessions and recovery moments by the sea, it highlights how balance and enjoyment are essential to sustaining performance over time.

EPISODE 3: Christmas in Les Saisies — A Training Side-Off

Beginning in Le Grand-Bornand, host of the pre-Christmas World Cup in France, the third episode follows Eric to Les Saisies, where he continues his preparation through the festive period.

Situated at 1,600 metres, Les Saisies once again underlines the importance of altitude in Olympic preparation. Christmas becomes a rare “side-off” from full intensity — a moment to pause, recharge mentally, and reconnect with loved ones.

This chapter adds depth and emotion to the project, illustrating how balance remains essential even at the highest level. Performance is not only about pushing limits, but also about knowing when to slow down.

EPISODE 4: Preparation Insights at Les Saisies

The final chapter dives deep into preparation training insights, once again at Les Saisies. This episode reveals the fine-tuning phase: precision work, technical adjustments, and attention to detail as competitions approach.

It’s a window into the invisible craftsmanship of performance: where every movement, every sensation, and every decision matters.

The last episode will be available on YouTube beginning of February, just before the start of the Olympics.
