IBU President appointed as AIOWF Representative on WADA Foundation Board

IBU President Olle Dahlin has been appointed to the prestigious position of the Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federation (AIOWF) Representative on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Foundation Board.

The WADA Foundation Board is the highest decision-making body in WADA and is composed equally of representatives from the Olympic Movement and Public Authorities. The Olympic Movement representatives were confirmed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) following consultation with the Sports Movement.

IBU President Olle Dahlin said:

“It is an honour to have been appointed to this prestigious position. The IBU is committed to promoting clean sport, which is why we created the independent Biathlon Integrity Unit, and we are a proud member of the international anti-doping community. WADA does invaluable work in protecting clean sport and the integrity of our competitions through developing and coordinating anti-doping rules and policies. As a member of the Foundation Board I will do my utmost to contribute to this important mission and represent my fellow AIOWF members.”

President Dahlin replaces former President of the International Skating Union (ISU) Jan Dijkema who had previously served on the position from 1 January 2021.

Earlier this year, the Chair of the IBU's Athletes' Committee, Clare Egan, got elected to the WADA Athletes' Council, where she will be serving as one of eight athletes elected by the Athlete Commissions of International Federations.
