The IBU Academy's Second Level Course 24/25 had an exciting start in Oberhof, Germany, from September 14th to 18th. Sixteen dedicated coaches representing 13 different National Federations came together for a week of intensive learning and collaboration.
The course featured a well-planned mix of classroom learning and practical training. Expert coaches led engaging sessions throughout the week:

Steffen Hoos shared his secrets of advanced ski waxing techniques to enhance speed on the tracks.
Trond Nystad & Matthias Ahrens taught coaches about cutting-edge skiing technique.
Lucie Rothauer & Cornelia Blank helped coaches understand the mental and emotional challenges athletes face and how to support them also in terms of antidoping.
Jonne Kähkönen & Matthias Ahrens gave coaches valuable tips on shooting training and technique for athletes of advanced levels.
Björn Sterzing showed coaches how to create personalized training plans based on sound sports scientific principles and real-world experience.
Sven Fischer emphasized the importance of good communication and relationships
Judith Haudum explained how proper nutrition can fuel athletic performance and support recovery.
The IBU Academy stays dedicated to helping biathlon coaches all over the world improve their skills. Through courses like this, the IBU provide coaches with the knowledge and support they need to guide the next generation of biathlon champions.
