Vote for your Surpriser of the Olympics 2026

Best part about the Olympics? All the surprises! In Antholz, we witnessed unforgettable moments from remarkable team efforts to fearless young biathletes stepping onto the podium. Now the question is: which performance stands out above the rest and deserves the Surpriser of the Olympics title?

Lora Hristova (BUL) has not stepped on the podium once in her career, until now. The Bulgarian surprised everyone as she shot clean in the individual and took home the bronze medal. What is even more impressive is that she reached 11th place in the sprint and 7th in the pursuit, which are her career best. What a way to step up the game!

Tereza Vobornikova (CZE) might be a World Championship medalist from mixed relay, but her own individual podium hadn't been realised until the Olympics. In the mass start, she missed only one shot out of twenty and won a bronze medal. She also did well in the women's relay, where the Czech team took a solid 5th place.

The Finnish men's team had timed their shape perfectly. Olli Hiidensalo went clean in the individual and took a fourth place, much like in Lenzerheide last year. The rest of the team did not disappoint either, and four athletes qualified for the men's mass start, a historic result for the team. In this race, Otto Invenius reached his career's second-best finish, a 9th place.

Anne De Besche (DEN) wrote Danish biathlon history with her Olympic efforts. She reached 16th place in the sprint, which was not only her career best, but also secured her a place in the mass start. This was the first ever for a Danish biathlete!

Now it is your time to choose which one of these deserves the Surpriser of the Olympic title. Vote now, you have until Thursday 18 CET!
