Heijdenberg and Dale-Skjevdal confirm their green bib status

Anna-Karin Heijdenberg of Sweden and Johannes Dale-Skjevdal of Norway doubled down on their wins in the second sprint in Obertilliach, taking the Pursuit and extending their lead atop the IBU Cup Total Score standings.

Despite two missed shots (one in the first prone stage and one in the final standing stage) — and briefly trailing Rebecca Passler by 0.2 seconds — Heijdenberg’s win was never really in doubt, as she clocked 30:45.5 at the finish. Frida Dokken of Norway, shooting 19/20 and posting the fastest pursuit time, climbed from 14th to second place, finishing 13.4 seconds behind the Swede. Paula Botet of France recovered from a somewhat shaky start (8/10 in the prone stages) with two clean standing bouts, rounding out the podium 20.4 seconds behind Heijdenberg.

In the men’s pursuit, Dale-Skjevdal and the Frenchmen Valentin Lejeune and Oscar Lombardot defended their positions from Sprint 2. Dale-Skjevdal completed a trio of wins in Obertilliach in 26:47.8 with an 18/20 shooting performance. Valentin Lejeune, shooting 19/20, finished 31 seconds behind, and Oscar Lombardot, with 18/20, crossed the line 49.7 seconds behind the winner.
