Who would survive the survivor?

Biathlon brings together two extremes, super endurance and shooting skills. These would for sure help if we were to drop the biathletes into a real-life survival test. But which one of them would come out as the winner? We asked the athletes, and here is the verdict!

One of the veterans

Do age and experience bring wisdom? Yes, if you ask Emilien Claude. "Who would win a real-life survivor? Ah, Ole Einar Bjoerndalen. He was the best for 20 years, so why not?" Also, Paulina Batovska-Fialkova believes that competing for a long time in biathlon gives you a good shot at winning.

"Maybe it would be Anastasia Kuzmina! She has survived the biathlon world for so long she could survive Survivor", the Slovak says.

Betting on oneself

Why bet on someone else when you can believe in yourself? Both Vanessa Voigt and Vitalii Mandzyn trust that they could come out as the winner. "I would give me a chance", Voigt laughs. Mandzyn is also keen to come out on top. "I hope it would be me!"

Everyone's friend?

A secret weapon to use in a survival competition could also be your personality. Christoph Pircher believes everyone's friend Campbell Wright would charm his way to victory. "He can get along with a lot of people. And if not people, then I think with animals."

"I'm thinking it will be one of the guys. Perhaps Campbell Wright! He is so chill, he'd totally survive on an island. But also, I think Adam Runnalls could be a good one. I think these two would make it," Deedra Irwin adds.

The underdogs

What one needs in a survivor is the skills to operate outside. Hanna Oeberg loves to spend time in nature and this could come in handy if we believe Julia Simon. "Hanna Oeberg! She is a tough opponent. She for sure would win it," Simon says.

Or maybe the best tactic would just be to fly away. "I'm trying to think of someone who spends a lot of time in the mountains and goes camping. Lukas Hofer, he is good at paragliding," Adam Runnalls concludes.
