"The place is definitely in the mountains around Geilo, where I grew up. There isn’t a better place to disconnect from the busy world than here. It’s beautiful all year round, but especially in the fall, when the leaves are orange and you might experience the first snowfall in October.."
"The first place that comes to mind is somewhere on top of a ridge line in the Wasatch Mountains in Utah, where I live! In particular, it’s this little peak (Mount Clay), which isn’t particularly hard to get to. But I love it because you have to drive up Guardsman Pass to reach the start of the trail—a beautiful road I love driving.Once at the top, I’m just so enamoured with the Western mountains—the quiet, the way you feel so high up, even though it didn’t take long to get there. And most importantly, it reminds me of home, which I often miss when traveling for biathlon all year!"
"I would say one place I really enjoy outside of biathlon is the golf course. It allows me to completely step away from the intense sporting environment we’re used to! The calm, the nature, and the pace of the game help me relax while still staying active. And it’s always in some beautiful setting! It’s the perfect balance between serenity and personal challenge. And in a way, it’s still a little connected to biathlon—the goal is still to aim for a very small target. In this case, it’s just a hole in the ground instead of the black target!"
"My favourite place is the estuary at home in Marlo, Australia. It’s a river that runs from the snowy mountains to the sea, so I feel it connects my two homes. I always find it relaxing to walk my dogs there at sunset or take a dip after a long training day."
"One of my favourite places to be is in the mountains. I really love backcountry skiing in the off-season and running in the mountains during the summer. It brings me a lot of joy!"
