Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold had previously joked that she always did well when Tarjei did well but over the past few days, their results have been tied to the same rope.
Both Norwegians won the Hochfilzen Sprint, finished third in the pursuit and will wear the yellow bib in Lenzerheide.
In a weekend dominated by Norwegian results in Hochfilzen, Lena Haecki-Gross was the breakout success that came out of left field. Missing the podium by 0.3 seconds in the sprint, the Swiss tussled with Tandrevold, Vittozzi and eventual winner Elvira Oeberg for victory. The 28-year-old eventually beat Tandrevold on the home straight to claim second place in the pursuit. In the tailwind of her successful week in Austria, Haecki-Gross heads home to Switzerland for the first-ever BMW IBU World Cup stage on home soil in Lenzerheide.
After some struggles in Oestersund and the Hochfilzen Sprint, Johannes Thingnes Boe found his winning mojo again, jumping from 11th place to victory in the Hochfilzen Pursuit.
For the Norwegian, it was the 75th victory of his career.
While the German team missed in-form Franziska Preuss in Hochfilzen, success came for the DSV Team at the IBU Cup in Idre.
After finishing sixth in the Individual and ninth in the Sprint at the IBU Cup in Kontiolahti, Johanna Puff of Germany took the first of the two Sprints in Idre Fjall. Puff, still only 21, shot 10/10 for her first-ever win in the IBU Cup in the first winter she started in the IBU Cup. Her triumph came a year after Selina Grotian won in the Sprint in Idre Fjall, her first-ever win in the IBU Cup.
Philipp Horn won the second sprint of the week on Saturday, snapping Johan Olav Botn’s winning streak.
296 athletes were at the start line this weekend at the first stage of the IBU Junior Cup in Pokjuka (SLO) – with winners from France, Italy, Austria and Slovakia.
The Junior Cup is covered in the Official IBU App with the flower ceremony and a short interview with the winners – next week, the competition series moves from Slovenia to Italy, Ridnaun-Val Ridanna more precisely.
