Vote for your Athlete of the Week: Otepaa 2026

Biathlon returned to the Otepaa tracks for the first time in four years under the Estonian spring sun. Windy conditions made racing tough on the shooting range, but several athletes rose above the rest. Who gets your vote for Athlete of the Week?

Sturla Holm Laegreid (NOR) has really found a great sprint condition. The Norwegian won both individual races this weekend. What makes this even more impressive is that he won the pursuit with the biggest gap in World Cup history!

Lisa Vittozzi (ITA) didn't let the strong wind bother her shooting this weekend. She missed only two targets in the sprint and pursuit combined, which awarded her second and first place.

Emilien Jacquelin (FRA) is the favourite of the Estonian crowd, and he gave them reason to cheer. In both sprint and pursuit, the French scored a second place, with good speed both on the tracks and in the shooting range.

It was a crazy Sunday for the US biathlon team. Maxime Germain kept the most speed in the tracks and set off Campbell Wright to the second leg in the lead. He did not wait for the others, and Deedra Irwin managed to keep the team in the lead. Margie Freed secured the USA's first-ever mixed relay podium.

Now it is your time to choose who deserves the Athlete of the Week title from Otepaa. Vote in the poll below; you have until Monday, 19 CET.
