Justine Braisaz-Bouchet began her BMW IBU World Cup career at age 18, placing 16th in her first-ever World Cup sprint at Hochfilzen. Since that time, she has started 187 times at the top level of the sport. Her first career win came at home in Annecy-le Grand Bornand in December 2017 on her father’s birthday.
This win came in the midst of a streak when she contributed to French women’s relay team Championship podiums with IBU WCH medals (2015, 2016 and 2017) and Olympic Winter Games Bronze in 2018. She followed the Olympic medal with an IBU World Championships Bronze medal the next year in the 15 km individual at Oestersund. Braisaz completed her set of Oestersund podiums with a victory in 2019/20 season opening 15 km individual and finished 9th in the 2019/20 World Cup Total Score.
Braisaz loves the outdoors; is an avid hiker, mountain biker and active in environmental issues.

The IBU World Championships 7.5 km Sprint witnessed an outstanding display of prowess from French biathletes as they swept the podium. Julia Simon claimed the gold medal, followed closely by Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, who clinched silver, while Lou Jeanmonnot secured the bronze. Adding to their impressive performance, Sophie Chauveau secured a commendable fourth place. This remarkable feat marks dominance unseen in the World Championships since 1984.
