The DEI Working Group will play a pivotal role in shaping policies and activities that promote a more inclusive and diverse biathlon community. The group will work closely with other IBU commissions and working groups to ensure that DEI principles are integrated into all aspects of biathlon governance and development.
Providing expert insights to develop a detailed vision for 2030 that includes diversity, equality, and inclusion.
Supporting the implementation and evaluation of IBU’s DEI programs.
Assisting in the annual review and planning of Gender Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion activities.
Serving as IBU DEI Ambassadors, promoting best practices in inclusion and equity within the biathlon community.
The IBU invites National Federations to nominate a maximum of two experts (one female, one male) for the DEI Working Group. Candidates do not need to be directly employed by the National Federation but should have expertise in areas relevant to DEI in sports.
Have a strong interest in DEI topics within a sporting environment.
Be creative and forward-thinking, with a vision for an inclusive biathlon community.
Have knowledge of IBU’s Gender Equality initiatives from previous years.
Understand how international governing bodies like the IBU operate and implement strategies.
The Working Group will operate from May 2025 – April 2027.
Members will meet at least twice a year, either virtually or in person.
This is a voluntary position; members will not be financially compensated.
Terms of Reference: DEI Working Group 2025-2027National Federations can submit applications via IBU Scope 2.0 for one or more nominated experts by the deadline of 31 March 2025.
