Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold’s talent was obvious from her first international competitions, winning the IBU Youth World Championships Pursuit Gold medal at Minsk in 2015, plus three additional medals.
As a junior, she added four more medals which led to her first BMW IBU World Cup start in the 2016 Khanty Mansiysk sprint (29th place). Tandrevold’s strong debut and continued good results earned her spot on Norway’s World Cup team and an Olympic berth at the age of 20. She claimed her first podium on the BMW IBU World Cup circuit with second in the 2019 Ruhpolding mass start. That same season, Tandrevold won IBU WCH Sprint Silver and Relay Gold medals at the IBU World Championships in Oestersund.
After a slow inconsistent start to the 2020/21 season, Tandrevold turned it into something special after the New Year with two individual medals, mass start Silver and 15 km individual Bronze at the IBU World Championships at Pokljuka. She capped her big 2021 turnaround with career victory number 1 in the season-ending Oestersund mass start, a win that secured her first-ever small crystal globe fore the Women’s Mass Start Score. The Norwegian had almost given up on the 2020/21 season at one point. That is, until a single last-standing stage penalty put her in a position to win that last competition. “It is incredible. In January, it seemed like my worst season ever and I felt I was in trouble and trouble and trouble. Now it has become my dream season.”
Tandrevold, although a hard-nosed competitor shares the same fun-loving attitude as her podcast partner Tiril Eckhoff, always up for a good laugh, never taking life too seriously.
