Antonin Guigonnat of France and Marlene Fichtner of Germany, both eighth after the Sprint and both with spotless shooting performances, won the Pursuits at the IBU Cup in Arber, Germany.

Second career IBU Cup Pursuit win for Fichtner

Eighth after the Sprint, and drawing on her victorious Pursuit experience from Geilo last season, Fichtner moved from fourth to third and took the lead after the final shooting, keeping her shooting score clean. She posted the fastest Pursuit time, 51 seconds quicker than Schneider, and won in 25:16.2. Sophia Schneider of Germany, also with two misses, confirmed her second place from the Sprint, finishing just 21.7 seconds behind Fichtner. Amandine Mengin of France, with two misses, completed the podium in third place, 45.3 seconds behind the winner.

Botet retained the Total Score lead.

Second Pursuit IBU Cup win of the season for Guigonnat

After a very dramatic Sprint with 14 athletes within one minute, Guigonnat gradually built his win as he clocked third fastest time after the first shooting, second after the second and took the lead after the third. He won his second Pursuit of the season in the IBU Cup with 20/20 in 33:59.7. His teammate Gaetan Paturel, with 17/20 shooting score, finished second, 12.2 seconds behind. Kasper Kalkenberg of Norway, with one miss, finished third, 30 seconds behind the winner.
