From swimming to cooking, this the the perfect summer day

Feeling like there is nothing to do now that it is summer and no biathlon races are on? Do not worry, we've got you covered! We asked the biathletes about their favourite things to do during a chill summer day. Read on and start planning the perfect day with these tips!

Johannes Dale-Skjevdal: Cabin life

The Milano Cortina 2026 Mass Start champion shares his perfect summer day: boating, ice cream, and seafood in Hvaler’s island paradise, this year with his first-born son for the first time.

"My favourite summer day is at our cabin in a place called Hvaler. Hvaler is an island community located in the outer Oslofjord, and you have the sea right outside the door. To be able to take the boat out for an ice cream and finish the day with some seafood for dinner is my ideal day! This year we will also take our son there for the first time, so I am really looking forward to that."

Estere Volfa: Everything outdoors

For Sprint Junior World Champion and Olympic debutante Estere Volfa, a perfect summer day happens outdoors.

"My perfect summer day is spent entirely outdoors with my favourite people, soaking up the sun, reading a book, hiking, swimming, having a picnic by the beach and enjoying great conversations. The best way to end it would probably be an outdoor concert listening to live music as the sun sets!"

Ukaleq Slettemark: Taking it easy

For Ukaleq Slettemark, rest days mean creativity—painting, beading, cooking, swimming with friends, or simply relaxing and recovering.

"When I'm not training and have a rest day, I like to do something creative, maybe paint or bead or cook some food. I like to make my own oat milk or make a banana bread for training. Or just meal prepping and taking some time to repair clothes. I also like to go swimming with my friends. Basically just taking it chill, so some easy things and try to recover well."

Lukas Haslinger: Bike rides in the mountains

For Lukas Haslinger, a perfect summer day combines activity and relaxation.

"A perfect summer day would be having a good breakfast or brunch with my family and then going for a bike ride to the mountains. Afterwards, chilling by a lake in the afternoon with some friends and music, whilst eating some fresh fruits and maybe watching a bike race. In the evening, ending the day with a good barbecue in the garden."

Matija Legovic: Riverside relaxing

And the same goes for Matija Legovic.

"My perfect summer day starts with waking up early and going for a short run, and after I eat breakfast. I get in a car to pick up my girlfriend and then we go to the river called Kupa. We usually make a fire and cook some meat, swim, dive from the rocks and enjoy the sun all day long."
