The best evening with teammates is...

During the summer months, athletes come together and spend a significant amount of time with the team on training camps. Whereas the days are filled with workouts and shooting drills, the nights are for relaxing with friends and building the team spirit. We asked the biathletes what their favourite evening activities are. Some of them might even surprise you!

Vincent Bonacci (Team USA)

"This camp has no WiFi! So the best thing I have been doing is playing a lot of cribbage, or making up songs in a circle while some people play guitar. Adam Runnalls and Jake Brown, as well as our shooting coach Matt Emmons all play quite well."

Zuzana Remenova (Team Slovakia)

"I'm training with some younger teammates and they're always full of energy, so in the evenings we usually end up playing games like table tennis, table football, or lately, billiards. If we're too tired, we just chill and play some cards."

Sebastian Packer-Smith (Team Australia)

"My favourite thing to do during the evenings is to play pool or table tennis with the pther athletes. It's always super fun and a bonding experience. If it's a camp with athletes from different countries it's a great way to connect because you are forced to talk to one another and have fun together. This way I always end up making some great friends. If it's a camp with just my teammates it's also a great opportunity to relax, socialize and de-stress after a big day of training."

Regina Ermits (Team Estonia)

"In the evenings at camps we love to play board games, have long dinners together, and if there is a big race on - like Tour de France - we always watch the finish if it fits into our schedule. We also enjoy going for walks and catching up with family and friends over the phone. Personally, I love reading a book or working on my computer when I have quiet time.

I really enjoy these moments because they just help us switch off from training and just relax in a different way."

Leonhard Pfund (Team Germany)

"We spend most of our evenings together playing some funny card games or going for an active recovery streching with some good music. Also sauna is a quite good thing to calm down after a tough training day."
