Martin Fourcade: “A Great Honor to Carry the French flag”
It is a great honor to be chosen to carry one's nation's flag at the Opening Ceremonies at the Olympic Winter Games; Martin Fourcade knows that very well. The six-consecutive-time World Cup Total Score winner has been selected to be the Team Captain and Flag Bearer for France.
Upon receiving the French flag that he will carry into Pyeongchang Olympic Stadium on Friday February 9th, Fourcade seemed calm, but admitted emotions will flow eventually. “This makes me very proud and it will be a great honor. I think the emotions will come once I enter the Olympic stadium. I am very happy to have been chosen by my teammates to be the Captain of this French team.”
“My goal is to win a title, I want to become an Olympic Champion again,” he admitted. “Once I have accomplished that, I might dream for more.”
