IBU Physician Seminar Vienna

The International Biathlon Physician Seminar took place at Jufa Hotel Wien City in Vienna on September 23, 2017. The Seminar was divided in three content-wise highly focused sessions starting with »The IBU, its History and current pro-jects« session where J. Carrabre first gave an overview of the programme, fol-lowed by the presentation of history of work of the IBU Medical Committee by F. Manfredini, the presentation of current projects of the IBU Medical Committee by J. Fitzpatrick and concluded with THE IBU Injury Surveillance Project and the role for the federations in it jointly presented by J. Fitzpatrick and C. Van Dyk.

Dr. Fitzpatrick then opened »TUE/ADAMS and the McLaren report« session with the presentation of TUE process in IBU. IBU’s anti-doping administrator Lucie Rothauer presented the topic Adams access and use for the team physician, fol-lowed by Overview of the McLaren report by Dr. Carrabre. »TUE/ADAMS and the McLaren report« session was concluded by Sergey Kostin, the executive director of Russian Biathlon Union who presented how RUSADA moved forward since the publication of the McLaren report and which anti-doping measures are being either implemented or still planned in the Russian Federation for the period of years 2016 and 2017.
